Who is Coaching For

  • Beginner: You are a new trader with limited knowledge and time. You would like to learn the basics and gradually work your way into the trading business while still earning a decent return on your capital.
  • Intermediate: You are an active trader and you find yourself missing the large moves in the market and would like to be able to catch them without drawing your attention away from your other trading activities.
  • Advanced: You're looking for better than average returns without having to sit in front of your computer all day and monitor the market.

  • We will identify what level your knowledge is at and move you forward from there because the entire process is customized to you as a student.

    Your Coach

    Gary Wabel

Gary has been working in the financial services world since 1995 when he started working with the largest mutual fund company in the world where he worked his way up the ranks from being a trader, and then to sales and operations. During this time Gary was intrigued by trading stocks and options and over the next several years mastered this process himself. The late 90's provided abundant trading opportunities. Then came the correction in early 2000-01. Gary studied the financial guru's in the market place looking for the holy grail of trading that each guru professed to have. During this discovery phase Gary realized that all "holy grail" systems were nothing more than principle driven trading plans.

He learned the art of investing from a personal coach, a former NASDAQ market maker, who taught him an insider's perspective. From that experience he went on to become a licensed broker, a proprietary day trader and a full-time trader in securities, futures and forex. He began coaching as a way to further his own learning and simultaneously help others. He earned his Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation awarded by the Market Technicians Association to those who demonstrate an aptitude in analyzing a wide variety of technical studies over different markets.

He is currently an adjunct faculty member of BYU's Marriot School of Management.

    Edward Goettig, CMT

He received his licenses in securities and has a broad and extensive trading knowledge in Currencies, Securities, Derivatives, Futures, Bonds, and Treasuries. Darin Bartholomew

After college Darin started working for a large mutual fund company/brokerage. While working there he was a formal instructor for stock brokers and traded mutual finds, ETFs, stocks and equity options; graduating with his MBA in 2000. Since 2002 he has been in the coaching industry teaching others to trade the stock, FX, and futures markets. Having personally traded the Equity Market for 15 years and the FX and Futures markets for 5 years.

Darin finds success in trading comes with personal discipline. The trading journal, trading rules, trade plan, chart, money management, and trade management are all key tools he uses and teaches his students to use, to 'see' the market more clearly and limit risk. Winning 40-60% of the time is not where most traders struggle, it is far more frequent that the discipline to define trading rules and follow them are what is lacking. Consistency, Discipline, Patience, and Humility are very much requirements to consistent trading profits and even more importantly to preserving the trading capital that has been accumulated.

Success Stories From Beacon Students

"The mentoring that I have received from the coaches at Beacon Learning Group has made a significant impact on my trading. My ability to systematically look at trading options has improved. I no longer let my emotions dictate my trading. I now let the charts and my new found trading strategies tell me when to get in or out of a trade. Best of all, I am now making money in the market!" - J. Brock London, U.K

"Although I have had mentors in the past, Beacon Learning Group and their coaching team are the first to teach me ways to take my trading account from a negative balance to a positive balance on a consistent basis." - M. Fawcet Mesa, AZ

"One to one coaching IS for those who are serious about trading, who want to work towards making a serious living from it, and generate the consistency required for success. As a student of Beacon I can wholeheartedly endorse their approach and talk of the success it has generated for me. I remain ever grateful." - Michael O'Hanlon

"Beacon coaching has been invaluable in helping me to understand both technical analysis and the trading principles which most influence day trading. Their patience and respectful teaching style has made this a very positive and a very valuable experience. I now have a much clearer picture of what I need for a Trading Plan that works best for me. By following that plan, I am more confident in my trades and have greatly improved my win/loss ratio. The value is definitely there. From my experience, I can recommend Beacon's Personal Coaching Program without hesitation."
- Don Crayes, San Clemente, California

"I wanted to let you know how valuable my coaching sessions have been with Beacon. I have...gained a lot of confidence...but just as valuable have been the lessons on patience and controlling emotion. I am having much more success in my trading and I attribute that success directly to my coaching sessions."
- B. Schwind, Albany, New York

"(Your coaching) has taken my confidence to a new, higher level. I now have a trading plan based on our time together that I am now using to continue my growth as a trader...I appreciate your concern in making sure I understood the concepts that you were teaching."
- G. Williams, Irmo, South Carolina

"Please accept my deepest thanks and gratitude. You met me where I was in my trading , and shared a path to take me where I want to be. I have more confidence in myself now. As we have discussed, it's not about the strategy, oh you need a good one and all. It is about my mindset, my beliefs, and consistency. Your grateful student,"
- Patt H., Texas, USA

No representation or implication is being made that using the information on this website will generate profits or ensure freedom from losses. Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. In fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.
